In public, students Atafeh and Shirin both seem to fit into the official way of life in Teheran, but in their underground existence they visit secret parties, experience sex and drugs, dance to techno music and dream of liberty. Atafeh’s liberal family has managed to give both of them a shelter against the morality police. However, when Atafeh’s brother, Mehran, returns home from a drug withdrawal centre where he has been turned to religious fundamentalism, Atafeh’s liberty is put to a hard test.
