L-BEACH Poetry Slam. What's that?

A poetry slam is a competition between ten chosen candidates live on stage. Each candidate

recites a text she has herself written – in the form

of a poem, a short story of even a song. The main thing is: be original, be creative, be you. Date: Festival Friday evening (April 20, 2012). Language: English

or German. Presenter: CayaTe (aka Tania Witte)

One example how a poetry slam performance could look like.

The topic.

There is only one rule which has to be kept: your text must deal with "music, girls, fun & holidays". Every candidate needs two separate texts to enter the slam. The first one for the first round, and the second for the final round.

The event in detail.

One by one, the ten chosen candidates have exactly three minutes to speak their piece on the L-THEATER stage. In the first round the jury (five random girls from the audience and some special guests) evaluate each performance. The three competitors with the highest score move into the last round. In the final round the audience is the jury and decides the winner. Once again, the participants have exactly three minutes to work their magic.

Performing for high stakes.

Those in question being primarily rapturous applause and the glory of winning, of course. ;)

Then of course there's the winner's prize – an L-BEACH #4 apartment for two people. The other two final candidates won't lose out, either!

Conditions of participation.

Possession of a LB#3 ticket with accommodation or at least a festival day-ticket for Friday. The "Poetry Slam 2012" is part of the L-BEACH program.
