Djuna Barnes a.k.a. Maria Gerhardt stole her alias from her favourite writer, around the Millennium and have since been here, there and everywhere in the Danish club scene. She has played all over Copenhagen and the best bars and clubs in Scandinavia, Berlin, Paris, London, Barcelona, New York and Tokyo. She has been involved in Dunst.dk, Suicide Sundays, Yo!had and recently Jolene bar in the meatpacking district, where she’s booking and taking care of overall sounds. She has made fashion-films for Mads Nørgaard, shows for Stine Goya, Vilsbøl De Arce & SponDiogo and are behind the superblogged Urbanizer-mixes. Apart from dj and music consulting, Djuna is also a freelance writer with columns in cool and dead-serious paper Information and the musicmagazine Soundvenue and she is currently writing on a book. Djuna Barnes is known for playing a wide spectrum of music, but always delivered with huge personality, continuity and surprices.
